Support for your careers event
About the academy
The academy is a collaboration of health, care and education partners dedicated to making Kent and Medway a great place to live, work and learn.
We work together to support our local people to develop the skills, values and behaviours that our employers need.
By working together, we can create a sustainable talent pipeline of domestic workforce our health and care system.
A new service for health and care careers engagement
The academy are working with system employer partners to develop a collaborative approach to careers engagement. We have developed a bank of ambassadors – people who work in the industry and volunteer their time to share information about careers in health and care. We have also developed a streamlined careers process to reduce duplication and support representation to be available where it is needed.
If you would like a health and care ambassador to visit your school, college, university, careers hub, jobcentre, event or organisation, we would like to hear from you.
Use the button below to complete a form to let us know what area you are in, what organisation you work for and what event you would like to book an ambassador for. Our team will support you to get the right match for your requirements.
We request that wherever possible, requests are submitted six weeks in advance of the event taking place so that we can work with our ambassadors’ work rotas to support them to attend.
We will endeavour to respond to your request within 10 working days. If you do not receive a response in this time, please contact the academy team: kmicb.kmhcacademy@nhs.net

Feedback from local organisations who have used health and care ambassadors
“Thank you so much again for coming in to speak to our business students this week about your role and career path. It was incredibly interesting, and the students and I had lots of conversations afterwards about what they heard, and what they learned from listening to you. […] Many hadn't considered financial management as a different role to finance accounting and so that led to a lot of interest. Overall, it was really enlightening for them to gain a better insight into how the NHS funding works, and the kinds of decisions you are having to make on how and where that funding is spent. Thank you again, your talk was a valuable part of my students' learning this year, and I hope we can welcome you again next year, to speak to the next business cohort.”
