Making a decision on what career is right for you can be difficult.
The best way to discover which roles might suit you is to experience real work scenarios and talk to the amazing people already working in health and care. You can also view the current vacancies and see if something captures your interest.ย
Our partners offer a wide range of volunteering, work experience, T Level placement and apprenticeship opportunities so that you can go into a health and care environment and get hands-on experience of the day-to-day life as a health and care professional. With placements available across East Kent, West Kent, Dartford and Gravesham and Medway and Swale, and in clinical and non-clinical roles, there are a wide choice of experiences open to you.
Placements and work experience are a great way to develop the skills, knowledge, behaviours, and values that you will need to work in Health and Care. They are also a great addition to your CV and allow you to gather relevant experience for when you interview for a role.

Health and Care Ambassadors
Kent and Medway Heath and Care Ambassadors are members of the incredible health or care workforce volunteering their time to share their stories with people from their local community. They may work or volunteer in NHS, social care, public health or involved voluntary organisations.
Ambassadors are of any working and volunteering age with wide range of skills, expertise, experiences and career journeys. Their work can be anything from admin or corporate services, to estates, finance, public health or any of the clinical professions. You can book them to attend any careers event you are supporting, whether at a primary school, secondary school, college, university, jobcentre or adult skills event.
Health and Care Ambassadors will tailor the careers session to the request received but will always include their personal story, skills needed for their role, progression pathways and much more.
The Academy are working on recruiting Health and Care Ambassadors in all areas of Kent and Medway with the aim that by September 2024, there will be an ambassador available local to you.
